may the log burn
may the wheel turn
may evil spurn
may the sun return
Bright solstice! It's the longest night of the year and one of my favorite solstices. I mean, I truly enjoy them all, but this one feels so fresh. It's time to reflect on what has passed and what is to come. A time to manifest our dreams and set our intentions for the new year. The winter solstice is also a time to relax and dig in tot he winter coziness. Get your hygge on, if you will. The holiday season is always hustle and bustle. This reprieve right before Christmas is a break and reminder to be gentle and soft. To wait for the light of the year ahead.
Looking for things to do to celebrate? Try these:
- light candles - points if you light a yule log or tapers (three for the maiden, mother, and crone) in a log
- make a wreath
- host a feast with your loved ones
- take a walk in nature - walking through trees in winter is incredibly healing
- journal
- take a bath
