Ready, Set, Match

Sets are the absolute best! It's almost like having a dress that breaks up into two pieces (or three if you're lucky). I feel like I'm just getting back into sets and it's wonderful. I took a break from blazers as I felt they were too corporate. It was probably just the silhouettes I was buying, but I think I've found my love for a more oversized look. Not all trends are for everyone and not all trends last, but when one works, make it work.

You know I don't like buying pieces unless I can create dozens of outfits from them. When I buy something, I try to think of three different pieces in my current wardrobe that I can wear it with. This has made sure I am not buying something just because I think it's cute or because it's on sale. My closet is small and packed - there's no room for a whim (mostly - there's always room for a strong whim). That being said, when I find a set that adds to my closet... I pounce. A set creates double the outfits a single piece would. There are only five outfits below, but there are so many more I can create. If you lean towards a capsule or minimalist wardrobe, matching sets would be perfect for you too, opening up so many outfit options.

Ideally, I would find one more set to round out my wardrobe this year. Probably something plaid, but darker? I'll know it when I see it. I wouldn't mind it being a blazer and trouser set either...
