This was a weird week! I was in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Sunday through Wednesday and I completely fell off the grid Thursday and Friday. I didn't even take an outfit photo on Friday, so you get what I wore on Sunday in Oklahoma.
As is typical when I am out of town, I had two outfits per day. This was a work trip, so Monday and Tuesday were a little more business-y during the day and fun at night. I also tried to do a mix of old and new pieces. Looking at the weather before I left, I was dismayed to find out it would be hotter there than in Indy and still humid. The hotel we stayed at (The Skirvin Hilton - yes, it's haunted) was frigid inside, so I was happy to wear some slightly fall outfits. Then to wander around the city, I wore pieces that wouldn't have me sweating profusely (I still did).
Wednesday was flying home day. I wore THE Target dress to visit the botanical gardens there - realizing that I do, in fact, need to hem them a little higher. I actually switched back to the same outfit I flew into OKC (the green dress) to fly home after getting the bottom of the red dress wet and dirty. It's my favorite comfortable dress that is easily elevated. I have it in green, red, and cream. I want to add the black to my wardrobe. It's definitely a summer dress, but it's a thicker fabric and will work great heading into fall.
I slept through most of Thursday and Friday. Thursday I only got dressed for dinner. I wore an old Shein dress that is not linked and I do not recommend, but I do have it and want to get as much wear out of it as possible. It was perfect for sitting outside.
How I packed: when I'm going on a trip with specific activities, I pack very specifically. I try on each outfit as I want to wear it and pack the outfit as is, accessories and all. I try to pack one extra outfit just in case (which came in handy this trip!) something doesn't work out like I want it to. This ensures smooth getting ready times and still allows for some mixing and matching as I try to stay true to a color palette.
I am excited for this week as the temperatures will be dropping! Finally...
You can find all my outfits here. Give me a follow!
