It takes a good minute for fall to really set in around Indiana. September and most of October are still fairly warm with sunny skies. You're dressing for fall/winter in the morning and summer/early fall in the afternoon and evenings. My favorite way to do this is adding a long sleeve layer under my summer dresses.
I love wearing off season pieces. I'm a cost-per-wear kind of gal and the longer I can wear it, the more I love a particular piece of clothing. Adding a cardigan or blazer over a sleeveless dress is great and I wear that combo often, but it can get old. Adding a button up shirt or a turtleneck under the dress gives you so many more options! You're still getting the coverage and warmth needed around your middle and arms, but you're basically creating a new dress. This basic striped dress can become so much more with all my long sleeve tops in my wardrobe. I have so many sleeveless dresses and this is one of the best ways to creating new outfits that don't feel like complete repeats.
