Apéro at the Apothecary 2.0

I have dreamed for a long while now about hosting my girlfriends regularly at my home (not just at The Apothecary). I always lived farther away from everyone and it never seemed to quite work out how I wanted. I never really thought I would be a hostess (or ghost host with the most as I prefer), but I am finally turning that around.

We had been doing fairly regulars girls' nights, but I wanted to have people over to relax while also having a good time (and maybe not spend as much money - working on that part myself...). I came up with the idea of having apéro nights. An apéro (apéritif) is a French term used to refer to drink and snacks before a meal. In my particular case, the snacks are actually the meal. I enjoy alliteration so the Apéro at the Apothecary was born. The first one in October was just me and one other friend. Schedules don't always line up! It was a lot of fun and that's when we did our sheet ghost photo shoot. Most of my invitees were able to attend this second round!

The holidays are always so busy and bustling, I wanted to this to be a reprieve from the going going going of Christmas. I think we succeeded in having a fun and relaxing. We sipped on bubbles, ate some delicious snacks, and tried the best hot chocolate. Games were played, movies were watched, and we all chatted the night away. It was truly magical. And my heart is so full.

All this to say, even if your home is tiny or not quite where you want it, host your event anyway. You can always make your space work for you. Go for it and you'll find that you've always had it in you. Keep budgets low and have people bring drinks and food and games. After all, people want to eat and drink what they like!

My goal for 2025 is to host more of these - at least every other month. I have some plans for future gatherings.
