Mansfield Covered Bridge Festival 2024

Another beautiful visit to the Mansfield Covered Bridge Festival! This is one of my favorite moments of October. I visit each year with my grandma (who has been going for much longer than I have) and we have the best time. I don't always get to see her as much as I should, but this little tradition of ours is so sweet to have.

The weather was mostly perfect. It felt like a lovely fall day, but the bees were out and they really wanted by cinnamon roll. We were taking our jackets on and off all day. It was fairly cloudy and windy, but once the sun came out, we were sweating a bit. It is always hit or miss, but lately the weather has been pretty great! I've definitely been in the freezing cold before and it's not as much fun for sure.

I had all my favorite foods, except we did not get a funnel cake. Breakfast was a giant cinnamon roll with hot chocolate. Then we stopped to get mashed potatoes and noodles in a cup (my favorite). I got my first pumpkin ice cream cone. And had a snack of loaded french fries and a lemon shake up. I always want to eat more when I'm there, but there isn't enough time!

I actually didn't buy much (except food) while I was there. The goodies I brought home included fudge, chocolates, and a sampler coffee cake (I have been wanting to try this for years!). I also bought Devin a comic book with one of his favorite characters on the front (a real happenstance find!). There just really isn't much I want to buy there and if it is something I really want, chances are it is out of my price range (i.e. the beautiful wood carvings).

Next year, my plan is to eat more food.
