It will come as a shock to absolutely no one that I am addicted to Coca-Cola. It's really not even about the caffeine anymore (regardless, my body will still go into withdrawal), it's about the taste. I love the taste of a crisp Coca-Cola Classic. And only Classic, you aren't going to catch me drinking any other version (unnecessary). While the health benefits of soda are... well... negative, I don't really care. My vices are pretty tame. That being said, I think it's always a good idea to detox from something unhealthy and create better habits around it.
For the month of February, I will be on a soda hiatus - meaning a Coca-Cola hiatus. I say soda so I don't start drinking a ton of root beer and orange soda to pacify the bubble need. Why February? Well, it seemed like a good time and it's the shortest month. I'm incredibly erratic when it comes to how many sodas I drink in a day - I can have zero to one some days while losing it completely and having six or more. Hopefully after this little break, I'll start choosing better beverages throughout the day and if I don't... well, I'm not that worried about it.
I think it's super important to keep an eye on your health and to try to do things that align with how you want to feel. I also think it's important to not deny yourself of the things you want because in the end, you're just going to feel guilty about it instead of enjoying it. Food and drinks should be enjoyed. There are no guilty pleasures, just pleasures. Everything in moderation right?
