It is no surprise to anyone who knows me that Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday. I even tried to have my wedding on Halloween, but settled for the 29th (my mother will never forgive me for calling my wedding spooky). This year has been absolutely nuts, so I started decorating just a tad earlier for Halloween to make me feel a little more sane and happy. Typically, I'll start decorating September 15th, which to some is already too early, but I say "nay" and point to the Christmas decorations already displayed. October always feels too short.
The past few years, I've loved dressing for Halloween as well. Not only in costume - that is the MOST fun - but also in my day to day wear. It's definitely become more "trendy" and I see a lot more options out there now, but it just makes it easier to add to my collection. As these are pieces I'll only wear for a month, I try to be selective and not spend too much money. My favorite place to shop has always been ModCloth, but I've recently stumbled upon Unique Vintage which has similar styles, but different prints. Incorporating pumpkins, skeletons, witches, and ghosts into my every day wardrobe is creatively and aesthetically invigorating. As I don't have 30 different pieces or outfits to wear all month long, I truly enjoy mixing and matching to create different outfits with what I do own.
Wearing character prints can be awkward if you're not used to it. If you're looking to add some pumpkins into your wardrobe, check out some ways to style in the video or below! Links to each piece are below, if it is out of stock/old, I have linked something similar. Happy picking!
