Fall Florals

At the end of summer, I find myself missing, not the summer heat, but the summer prints. The weightlessness of summer is what I miss: the flowy fabrics, bright colors, and florals. A beautiful floral print is my favorite. The two main tumblers I use have florals on them (one is for water and the other is for Coca-Cola, no shame). It's like bringing a little bit of outside to the inside. Just like white, it seems like florals disappear after Labor Day. And just like white, you don't have to say goodbye to your pretty flowers!

I'm in love with this dark background floral from J. Crew. It has all my favorite things: ruffles, a bow, and a beautiful floral design. For fall and winter, you do want to stick with a darker background, but that's just a guideline, not a rule. The fabric is still light weight enough to get through Indiana's summery fall and is perfect for layering once the temperatures do drop. You can wear it with jeans or your best pencil skirt. This look is definitely more play than work, but I can't wait to dress it up.

Some other favorites: Express, Modcloth, Modcloth, ASOS, ASOS
