Earlier this month I attended my first Indy Blog Society event at HoiTea ToiTea. I could not think of a more perfect event to wear this Gal Meets Glam dress. The dress is called the Ellie and I just adore it. Tea tastings and pastry pairings were meant to be done in this dress.
I'm honestly not sure if any Nordstrom stores in my area carry Gal Meets Glam dresses, but I knew I wasn't going to be able to try them on. I had to really read the reviews and go off the size chart. From what I had read, it seemed the dresses ran a little small. I was mainly concerned about the bust and sleeves. I'm wearing a size 4 and it is a little large, however, the sleeves are just right. Sizing down, I would have probably been a little uncomfortable. I love everything about the dress, except the sleeves are more puffy than what I expected. I've always had issues with my arms (they aren't exactly slender, but more muscular and bulky) and that could be why the sleeves seem more puffy. Otherwise, it's a perfect dress for tea, weddings, work, or brunch!
Maybe it's because I watch a lot of BBC, but I love the idea of tea and pastries. I knew I had to come to this event! The event was put together by Jalysa King (visit her Instagram here). I had so much fun meeting everyone and tasting the teas (which had alcohol to make it even better). I'm going to list each tea and the pastry paired with it. Contact HoiTea ToiTea to set up your own pairings!
Earl Grey and Lavender Champagne paired with Lavender Fog Macaron (my favorite).
Raspberry Hibiscus based Sangria paired with a Lemon Poppy Seed Scone and Clotted Cream.
Dark Chocolate Cherry infused with Belgian Whip from Flat 12 paired with a Chocolate Chip Cookie.
I couldn't resist purchasing more macarons (pictured below). I start craving them and almost buy some online, but always exit out before purchasing. Now I've found a place to get them. The flavors they have a delicious and will cater to anyone's taste buds.
