If you pay attention to fashion you know there are So. Many. Rules. You would think a field as creative as the fashion industry is there would be less rules. As times progress rules change or are thrown out all together. One of the rules you should forget is the "No white after Labor Day" rule. Apparently, the super rich during the Gilded Age decided this should be a rule so class systems stood out. Rich people wore white. That is the lamest beginning of a rule. Obviously class systems are still in place (and not to get too political) with the middle class slowly disappearing and what not, but we have got to stop "othering" each other (even if it's purely subconscious). Wear white after Labor Day. It's hot. It's sunny. It's one of the most basic and abundant colors in every wardrobe. The industry has even made it easier by giving us a "winter white" that is a bit creamier and not as stark. I mean, what better color to describe the winter months than white?
What is your favorite white piece to wear after Labor Day?
