September Plaid

It's September 1st and there's only 14 more days until I decorate for Halloween. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. As previously stated, the first half of September is not my favorite. Generally it's still hot and sticky, however, today was beautiful. Along with corn, Indiana is known for its finicky and temperamental weather. It's easy to forget that it could easily reach 100 degrees or snow tomorrow with the delicious 74 degree weather today. I could not have asked for more perfect weather today. Taking the dogs out this morning it was a brisk 64 degrees. This was going to be a great day to wear my new plaid shirt dress from Target. Sarah from Classy Girls Wear Pearls wore a similar shirt dress and I knew I had to get one for the season. There was a budget I had to stick to, however, and I just couldn't justify spending more. Thank goodness Target has such a great selection right now! Going on break from work around 1:30, it had just risen to the mid-70's. Even though I had just been Monday, I thought it was an opportune moment to take lunch at the local orchard, Tuttle Orchards. While there wasn't time for apple picking, I did have a delicious lunch and took a small walk around the property. Their sunflower maze was closed, but there was an option to buy some in the green house. Working in suburbia never tasted so good. How did you spend your first day of September?

I've also just realized I'm basically an advertisement for Target today. I'm okay with that.
