What a week. It was just so full of stuff! I felt like my daily tasks just kept growing and growing. My fault mostly. I added two running days into my week and while I'm just doing a mile right now... it feels like a lot. Add that to the other "self care" items and I feel like all I'm doing is checking off things on a list. Which is probably why I didn't read much this week and stared at the television. It's possible I need to reassess.
I had a lot of fun with my outfits this week. The weather was so lovely and then turned quite cold again. I'm trying to find that perfect mix of old favorites and trying new ways to style my clothes. It's easy to just wear something you've worn before, but even if it's a great outfit, it can start to feel boring. And I definitely don't want to be bored with my wardrobe!
I've been playing around on The Real Real (TRR). I've bought two skirts (one definitely needs a hem, we will see about the other). I have definitely been more excited to buy used than shopping new lately. I don't know if it's the trends that are out right now that don't appeal to me or the quality of older clothing, or just wanting something nicer for less. All of these things probably tie in to some degree. I also want something that feels one of a kind. The clothing that I can afford is widely shopped and while I don't mind wearing the same outfit as a stranger on the street or as my friends, it's honestly so nice to say "it's this, but thrifted" when asked where I got something. That's the kind of individualism I'm after. I also tend to get a lot of inspiration from older images anyway, so what I want isn't in production anymore. I can't wait to style the new skirts!
Listen, I love sticking to a formula. Long skirt, sweater, and boots? Perfect for a slightly chilly day sans tights. Even though it doesn't look like it here, I spent the weekend downtown. To keep my packing lighter, I opted to wear the same boots all weekend. Shop the look here.
A blast from the past. I don't know what it is about the orange and green together, but I love it. Another long skirt and boot look, I know. It's just so fun! Shop the look here.
And it turned cold again. A little bit of Ravenclaw for you. This outfit was just so comfortable. I was basically curled up in my office chair all day. Shop the look here.
A look for a lunch date. This Gal Meets Glam dress is probably my favorite that I own. Every time I wear a GMG piece, I cry a little on the inside that they're no longer produced. I didn't put this look on my LTK. Honestly, there is just nothing like this dress out there.
Hey! A no tuck again! I feel like I'm getting the hang of it now. I think it really depends on the outfit and how I want to appear. Another comfortable outfit for a chilly day. Still not over these pants. I never will be. Shop the look here.
I really went out on a limb with this one! This is my casual Friday look. Ha! I don't bring these trousers out to play much because it's a skinny fit and I've honestly been leaning away from those, but I like them with the oversized blazer. I added the bow earrings, socks, and Mary-Jane's for a more girly look than what it originally presents. I think it's kind of fun! Shop the look here.
