I never really shared my vision board from 2024. It wasn't like I was trying to hide it or anything, I kind of just forgot. But I think it's important to put our dreams and aspirations out into the world. To say this is what I hope my life looks like, this is what I'm striving towards.
I believe in manifestation as a concept. Is sitting there and thinking about something over and over again going to make it happen? No. However, if you're staring at it or thinking it or writing it down often, it seeps into your mind and you start doing the things to get you there. It can change your mindset from scarcity to abundance. We often stare (while scrolling) at the things we want and seemingly cannot have. And it really brings us down. My viewpoint is to find a goal or dream that is realistic and what you want. Will I be living in a multimillion dollar home anytime soon? Ha! No. Nor do I want to be (I prefer smaller, cozy spaces). Will I be throwing parties for 30+ people? Nope. But I will have small gatherings with my nearest and dearest. I put these things that are possible on my vision board and on my feed (though sometimes I like looking at completely unattainable, aesthetic things).
A little bit about how I want to see my year:
- Travel. I am currently set to take two international trips this year. One to England and one to Italy. I am so excited (but they're both at the end of the year), so I won't be talking about them much until summer most likely.
- Journaling. I'm currently working on getting back into journaling frequently (preferably every day). I have been doing a 5 year/5 minute journal every day since the beginning of January. My partner bought me a beautiful 5 year journal that I just adore. I'm hoping this short form journaling will then lead me into more long form journaling. I think it's working.
- Books! As an avid reader, I'm hoping to read so much this year. I did set my reading goal to just 52 books. I'm wanting to read because I want to, not because I'm trying to meet some arbitrary goal. I also want to read better books this year. I got into a weird habit of just picking up random books at Goodwill (hello cheap!) and they just weren't really worth it. Quality over quantity.
- Fitness. I feel like I have a good routine set already with my workouts Monday thru Friday, but I'm ready to add more cardio. I was walking 10,000+ steps most of last year, but kind of fell off in December and January. I am hoping to get a walking pad and weighted vest. And I would like to add at least 2 days of running per week.
- Small gatherings. I have really enjoyed hosting my Apéro at the Apothecary nights and I'm looking forward to more this year. I have some really fun things to try and I can't wait! Hosting at home has been so lovely. I'm working on trying to not spend a ton of money at the same time. It's a delicate balance I think. It's difficult seeing your friends when you're adults and having something that is mostly standing is a good way to ensure you're getting quality time with them.
- Love. This one I think is pretty obvious from above, but I'm just really looking forward to making a life with my partner and moving to the next steps. Life is rather superb on this front right now and I'm having the best time.
- Other things. I'm really looking to just create my slow, quiet life. Working on my plants. Getting back into Tarot and crystals and magic. Finding items that add happiness into my life. I have never been interested in hustle culture. I don't want to turn my hobbies into something I can profit from (except for maybe fashion and style...). I do want to be able to come home and not be bored. I want to enjoy going out, but love being at home more (with people too). I want to create a better life that is happier and healthier.
I feel like I'm already and always working on all of these, but it's fun to see things take shape in a collage. These are my resolutions that don't quite get fully written out as actual goals. It's less about meeting a specific goal and more about how I see my life and how it feels. I also made a version for my desktop devices.
