We had the chance to visit Syracuse, IN the weekend of December 21st. It was a short trip, but it was packed with fun and food. A few of Devin's friends were getting together, so we hopped into the car and scurried away up north. If it was only that easy. We had many bags and had to drop off Oswin to my grandma's.
The day we got there, we prepped (by mainly watching) a Thanksgiving type feast. I did bring a cutie snowman cheeseball. I got the recipe from Jaglever. It was a hit and the perfect snack before dinner. We all packed ourselves into this beautiful Airbnb off the lake. It was cold and snowy, but it just made everything feel extra cozy. I really didn't take many photos this weekend. I always say it's the sign of a good time (and it is!), but I wish I had more of the house at least - it was huge with some neat spaces.
I did manage to draw a bath in that giant jacuzzi. The one in the master bedroom was even larger (definitely meant for two). I love watching a sunrise over a lake and doing that while in the tub was perfect. It was so serene and just a nice break from the holiday kerfluffle. We got right back on the road pretty quickly that morning, but not before staring dreamy eyed at the lake for a little bit longer. I know these houses are meant for the summer. There is just something about being in a lake house and on a lake in the off season - it feels much more my speed.
