What a weekend! I'm so glad I was able to make it back to Chicago for the Halloween weekend. I think it's safe to say it's a new tradition. I stayed with my friend, Charlotte (Wilma), on Friday night and Devin and I got a room Saturday night. Two parties and several drinks were had (even shots of Malort). Lots of puppy kisses. We ate super delicious food. All around, it was a fabulous time. I'm looking forward to next year!
I cannot lie, I think these costumes this weekend are some of the best I've ever done. I don't know how long I've wanted to do Tina Belcher, but she's been on a costume list for a very long time. It's such a simple costume, but effective. I already had the skirt. I bought the t-shirt, hair clips, and socks on Amazon. You can shop everything here. Now, she wears black Chucks in the show, but I don't have any kind of black sneaker and I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something I may not wear in the future. I think the loafers get the job done. I even did the dance.
I've never actually done a couples costume before. I've done group costumes and love dressing up with my friends, but I have always wanted a partner to dress up with me. And I finally found him. We went as Master Roshi and Bulma from Dragon Ball Z. This was honestly so fun. Most people knew who we were, which is a win for me. The beard might have fallen off and my wig gave me a splitting headache, but it was a wonderful night.
