Apple and Pumpkin Picking

Honestly, I should have posted these ages ago, but it's been a busy fall! I'm incredibly thankful it's been so full of fun. Quite frankly, I'll probably need to slow it down next year.

Erica and I visited Tuttle Orchards in September to pick apples and pumpkins. To be honest, I've never actually went this early in the season. For either of those. I don't know why. But it was the best. We chose to go the day after they opened their pumpkin patch and we had all the pickings! You can still see there were so many apples on the trees still and basically all their pumpkins were still out there. I highly recommend going in September, even though it feels like July (we did luck out with a cool and crisp morning).

I will forever want to be as adorable as possible for trips like these. I really love how the yellow sweater stands out among all the green in the orchard. Of course I had to wear my trusty Hunter boots. No matter how cute you want to be, wear proper footwear. It's always muddy or dusty. You're going to ruin your shoes if they aren't made to be worn trekking the great outdoors. For the pumpkin patch, you know I had to wear my pumpkin sweater! It was getting pretty toasty by that point in the day, but I was still fairly comfortable. That skirt might have been a little short and someone most likely had a full view of my ass as I was ripping the pumpkins off the vines. Whoops.

It's not a visit to Tuttle's without getting some apple cider. We were also starving by the end of our picking and shoots, so we ate at the grill. They have the most delicious food. I highly recommend. We also visited the farm store to grab goodies like caramel apples, apple cider, applesauce, and other things. A good time to visit is during the winter - crowds are smaller and they have great cold weather foods.

I'm hoping I can make it back there at least one more time before the fall season ends.
