Last year around this time, I went to my first AIM (Apartment Innovation Marketing) Conference in Huntington Beach, California. Never having been to California before, it was interesting curating outfits that were appropriate to wear to the classes each day and the parties/events at night. I had always assumed California was always just hot (over 70°F) and at the end of April, we were lucky to have it hit 70°F at all. The "average" temperature it's giving for the high the second week of May is 65°F. We've had hotter days here! Being on the water made it feel a lot colder as well. We didn't have pool days, we had hot tub days.
We are heading back this year (same place, just a little later) and I feel much better prepared wardrobe wise. Though I'm not sure what I'm planning to wear... at all. I have pieces in mind, but not outfits. I really loved what I wore last year and am trying to create something cohesive like I did then. When I pack for a trip, I try to choose a main color way and go from there. Last year was mainly pink - I'm thinking about doing green this year as the main color with pops of browns and pinks. We'll see what happens.
For now, if you need some spring work inspiration or you're heading on a trip yourself, here are my outfits from last year. Disclaimer: at this time I really needed to save on pieces/already had these pieces from years before - there is a lot of Shein... I don't recommend shopping from there, but I also understand wanting cute/trendy items for an inexpensive price point. I would recommend Cider!
