Chicago Weekend Trip

I had a little, mostly, impromptu trip to Chicago this past weekend and it was a blast! I've never been to Chicago (unless you count my 8th grade field trip, which I don't) and I was so excited to explore the city. We only stayed one night, but it was enough to get a few things in knowing I'll definitely have to come back (probably when it's not freezing). Despite hanging around the higher 30's F, it was so fun to walk around and see all the shops, eateries, and people watch.

We stayed at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Chicago. The room was great - bed extra comfy and nicely decorated. The bathroom, as per usual, was my favorite. We really only slept and didn't explore what the hotel had to offer, but they did have happy hours with spiked cider in the lobby!

The first stop was the to find food after we arrived. I have a friend who frequently visits Chicago and definitely asked her the best places to go. She suggested Siena Tavern for brunch. So delicious! The steak and eggs (my absolute favorite breakfast/brunch) was absolutely scrumptious. I also couldn't resist ordering an Aperol Spritz!

Popped into the Hampton Social for drinks.

I didn't get to properly photograph this outfit, but this is my favorite time of year to pull this out. It's definitely one of my favorite Gal Meets Glam pieces. I couldn't resist adding another red bow to my hair.

Dinner was at Roanoke. Both of us got the same dish and wowee it was perfect. I love a rotisserie chicken - it was the perfect "home cooked meal", but out. Sticking with something sparkling, I drank a French 75.

Before checking out on Sunday, we stopped by The Smith for brunch. We were supposed to go to Beatrix, but the wait was just too long. It just so happened we wandered over to The Smith at opening so we were able to get right in, but it filled up quickly. I would definitely recommend getting reservations anywhere if you're looking to not sit at the bar or have a super long wait. While I wasn't planning on having a brunch cocktail, it did come with our meals. I tried the sparkling sangria and it was superb. Couldn't forget my hot chocolate - it was a very chilly morning!
