Welcome to The Apothecary! This is my tiny home with big personality (if you ask me). It's all very much a work in progress and Christmas kind of derailed year round decorating. I adore my Christmas décor though and was excited to put it up. I would describe my décor style very similarly as my personal clothing style (classic, romantic, and whimsical). Feminine and eclectic, cozy and tidy. I named it The Apothecary because I want people to imagine a tiny witch's apothecary - homey and full of plants and home remedies (I'm working on the latter - I have tea!). The "end" of decorating will probably never come, but I can't wait to see where it goes.
The living space! This is definitely where is becomes the most eclectic - it's the best. I actually had bought a matching couch and chair set on Facebook Marketplace, however, the couch was too large to fit properly through the door (we may try again later), so I bought this green velvet couch on Amazon. It's not ideal, but it is the same style and I have always wanted a green velvet couch.
I, of course, had to keep a little Harry Potter area. I added so many items from my Orlando trip and I'm excited to style it once I get frames for the photos.
My book storage was a tad worrisome (I am trying to create a library, ahem). However, with the ledge above the bedroom entrance, I have decided that would make a great space to fill with books. If you're not able to have a ton of book shelves, I recommend any space (like above the kitchen cabinets) that can hold them - get creative!
My bedroom is definitely my favorite space. It's certainly the most put together room. I love the gold and white accents with the pinks and greens and blues. While I have bought a lot of new items, I'm trying to find pieces from antique stores to decorate. Two of the hanging pieces on the wall are from the Southport Antique Mall. There is a lot of perusing ahead of me!
You can't see my closet, but it's a decent size and most of my clothes actually fit inside. I did like the idea of having a rack outside to showcase my favorite pieces/seasonal items and to clear some space in the closet. I've actually added a rack in the closet as well so things aren't just shoved everywhere (tip!).
I really wish I had a window in the bathroom (a girl can dream), but it's spacious! For an apartment especially, I recommend getting the over the toilet shelving - it can hold so many items and really adds a lot to the space.
If you want to know where anything is from, feel free to ask!
