Zenni Optical. I've amassed quite the collection of glasses this year thanks to Zenni's easy and affordable website. Typically, my glasses and lenses cost about $400 - with insurance! I've always dreamed of being able to switch out my frames like I would my lipstick, but with that kind of price tag, I was out of luck. With Zenni, I can afford so many more frames! The pair shown above is my newest acquisition and my first foray into the circle frames. With my lenses (which include the blue light blockers), I only paid about $45. I'm not sure how long the frames will last, but at that price, it's not as big of a deal. These are actually kid-sized to fit my kid-sized face. I'm totally loving them and think I need a black pair.
The Thousandth Floor. Currently, I'm reading The Thousandth Floor series. I'm not head over heels for it, but it's a fun read. It's basically if Gossip Girl had been set in the future. I adored Gossip Girl when it was on the air, so I knew I would at least get a kick out of the similarities the book shows. I'm a sucker for Dystopian future books. This isn't exactly a Dystopian future, but it is futuristic in all the best ways. I'm currently on the third installment and I cannot put it down.
Mochi Ice Cream. I've seen the Mochi ice cream on the internet, but hadn't paid much attention to it. I was a little confused by it and hadn't seen it in Indy, so I didn't go out of my way to figure it out. At a recent trip to Needler's, I saw they had some in stock. I immediately picked up a few to try. Mochi ice cream is basically little balls of ice cream. The ice cream is encased in a pounded sticky rice dumpling (flavorless). I'm a big texture person and it wasn't at all what I expected. I can't just sit and eat a bunch at a time, but for a delicious snack it is perfect. If you haven't already, you should try them!
Rent the Runway. I've praised RTR multiple times on Instagram and here on the blog. It is so great to rent your fancy dress instead of buying something you know you'll wear only once. Lately, I've been a little disappointed in their selections for cocktail dresses. This probably says more about me than RTR. I just enjoy fall/winter dresses more than the summer cocktail dresses. I have a few events coming up and have two dresses lined up for just October! One is a lacy, black number I'm wearing as part of a costume (witch). The second is a gorgeous blue sequin with a nude underlay for the annual Prodigy Awards. You can find them here and here respectively.
