Monday Musings

You may have noticed (or not, does anyone actually read this blog?) that I have been a bit absent. Work has been a little more crazy than usual and I've been finding myself needing more R&R. I'm not sure if it's actually helping, but this blog has continued to be at the back of my mind. I'm bringing myself back because this is also rest and relaxation for me. I can't promise I'll be consistent, but I will do my best.

Indy 500: This year was my first time going to the Indy 500. I went to the Brickyard 400 about 10 (or more) years ago. I didn't enjoy that experience. I felt more prepared for sitting around for 500 laps this time around. The start of the race was cool. The crashes are entertaining, but also anxiety inducing. About three or four crashes happened near us. It was unbelievably hot. At the hottest, I believe it was 91°F/33°C. Pictured above is what I wore - and I still sweat through everything. The ending was great to watch - congrats Will Power! Would I go back? Yes, but only if the temperatures stay below 85°F/29°C. It was fun hanging out with my husband at least.

Good Mythical Morning: I may have mentioned before that my husband and I are on a YouTube watching kick. It's been a minute, but I've gotten really into Good Mythical Morning. These two best friends do silly things every day and I just love it. I think the friendship is really what makes it. Click here for one of their newer videos. You won't regret it.

J. Crew Factory Eyelet Shirt Dress: I don't believe I'll ever make it through one of these posts without mentioning something from J. Crew Factory. This particular dress is worth mentioning. J. Crew was selling this dress a few months ago and of course it sold out. J. Crew Factory brought it back! You can click here to purchase. It comes in a navy and green color - I bought the navy and am considering hitting "add to cart" for the green.

Tervis: One of my Residents was so kind to give me a 30 oz. Tervis stainless steel tumbler (I work in Property Management). I love tumblers, but never really got into the Yeti trend. The Tervis cups are more wallet friendly and still do a great job at keeping your drink cold (I haven't tried hot drinks). The one I have is this floral design. They have so many cute options too! I've been using mine strictly for water and I've definitely increased my water intake. Hooray for fun cups!

Hat: Loft (similar here), Shirt: J. Crew Factory (I can't find the polka dots - I bought in store), Shorts: J. Crew Factory, Shoes: Target
