I work and live in small towns. Not the same ones funnily enough. After touring Indy like a tourist, I wanted to do the same in the town I spend most of my time. McCordsville, Indiana is tiny, but is located next to the slightly larger Fortville. Fortville has a main drag (Main St. if you will) with adorable eateries and shops with that charming small town vibe.
I stopped in to Foxgardin, a delicious restaurant and bar, and had the time of my life. The restaurant itself is small, but full of life. I made the mistake of not reserving a space ahead (make sure you do, especially if you want a patio seat), so I ate in the "Whiskey Lounge". The Whiskey Lounge is very prohibition. Two windows that are covered by the alcohol or heavy curtains. I ordered a burger and was delightfully surprised. Covered in cheese and cooked to perfection, I want this burger every day. The staff are polite, friendly, and are there to make sure you have a great time.
After dinner, I thought I could handle an ice cream. I always love a good wander around Indulge. That is one scoop! The interior is always decorated to perfection. If you're in the area during the day, you can also get lunch here! Their holiday decorations are probably my favorite though.
