A Day In Indy

Lela and I spent a full day traipsing around downtown Indianapolis. I apologize, but this is a very heavy photo post. I have lived here all my life and there is nothing like taking in your city with brand new eyes. Falling in love with Indiana all over again.

This was one of my favorite days. In early May, Lela and I wandered around Indianapolis sight seeing and taste testing.

Our food options of the day were Milktooth and Bluebeard. Some of you may not know, but I am quite a picky eater. However, I really wanted to step out of my bubble and try something new. It failed miserably, but I am still proud of myself. Milktooth is not for me. I can understand why people get a kick out of it, but I find it a bit pointless. Bluebeard was definitely more for me. Styled like a library and inspired by Kurt Vonnegut, it had a great atmosphere and I actually enjoyed the food.

It may be a bit smaller than some of the zoos in the Midwest, but I adore visiting the Indianapolis Zoo. I try to visit at least once a year - there is always something new happening! I cannot help but to take a million photos when I am there. How can you not? The animals are too fun and interesting!

Because it was a Monday and things happened to be closed, we ended up visiting the Circle. I just love walking around there and having my own Met Steps moment à la Gossip Girl. It's a great spot to really "see" the city and get in a good people watch. There are also a few great shops that beg a peeking.

What is your favorite spot in Indianapolis?
