Monday Musings
1. I'm not vegan or even vegetarian and I have no plans to be. I do believe everyone should have their options. This video of Harry Potter star, Evanna Lynch, turning recipes from the Harry Potter cook book into vegan recipes is adorable. She mixes up chocolate frogs, butterybeer, and pumpkin pasties. The vegan recipes don't sound too different from the originals and seem rather tasty.
2. The REACT YouTube channel is amazing. From kids to adults, the REACT team goes through different videos, foods, games, music, etc. to see how people react to them. It can be quite hilarious. The videos also tend to make you feel a bit old. One of their newest videos features Fall Out Boy and their new music video. I was well into high school when From Under the Cork Tree was popular. It hardly seems so long ago, but these college kids really made me feel my age.
3. Children's books are the best. Children's books that adults actually enjoy are even better. The New Yorker compiled a few of their previous articles about author's of children's books: "The Authors Who Helped Us Grow Up". From A.A. Milne to J.K. Rowling, the authors are those we continue to love throughout time. These articles make me want to go through these books again!
4. Parks and Rec is one of my favorite shows. I recently watched the series again because it's hilarious and should be watched multiple times. Each time I watch or read something more than once, I find things I hadn't really noticed before. This go around I noticed April Ludgate's style evolution. That girl (okay the on set stylist) really knows her work wear. With the show being off air for some time now, the pieces are definitely not in stock, but this Tumblr dedicated to April's style is great inspiration.
