There is something about winter that makes me want to wear neutrals. While the skies are gloomy it would make sense to wear colorful pieces to brighten my day and mood. Neutrals are just comfortable - like a home cooked meal. It's easy to pull together an entirely neutral outfit because each piece fits cohesively. Pull together a pair of black skinnies and a black turtleneck and you're as classic and polished as Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face. However, if black seems rather harsh, try gray. The lightness will brighten your face and it doesn't feel heavy - even when you're layered. Even when the skies are gray, you'll stand out.
