On My Mind
1. Loft 50% off sale: Everything is 50% off with the code NOEXCUSES. It is taking all my energy to not shop this sale. I have excuses, sorry Loft. I promised myself no shopping until certain cards were paid off. While I wait, I can't help but look at the new spring items. The weather may still not be cooperating, but it's about time to bring out the colors! Their new work items are just darling. If any of you end up purchasing, let me know what items you bought! I will live vicariously through your shopping.
2. La La Land: Literally everyone is going gaga for La La Land. I hadn't gotten the chance to view the film before the Golden Globes and I truly wish I had. This happens all the time. The hype over a film always draws me in and then it falls short of my expectations. La La Land is a wonderful film, don't get me wrong. Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are absolutely the perfect pair. But is it going to be the greatest film I see this year? No. I did enjoy the roller coaster of emotions, the wardrobe, and the singing. I would still rate La La Land as a must see.
3. Stella: Growing up we had a Chow named Cinnamon. After she passed my parents refused any notion of another dog. I had a hamster, but that was the farthest the pet road would go (especially after said hamster had a million babies). After my brother and I moved out of the house I thought my mom would definitely talk my dad into getting a puppy. The talk has stretched out forever and finally they broke down and got the most adorable Boston Terrier puppy! And named her Stella. I'm not even embarrassed to admit I have been stopping by my parent's house nearly daily to see her.
4. The Woman Who Would Be King: I only gave this book 3 stars on Goodreads, but I do believe it is an important book. Hatshepsut was an Egyptian Queen who rose to the rank of King. This book tells her story (as best as possible). It is refreshing to see an ancient woman portrayed as something more than her body. While I found the writing style to be a little odd, I enjoyed the story it told.
5. Power Rangers: As a child I absolutely loved watching Power Rangers. My love truly stayed with the original, but I get why they branched. It should come as no surprise that I am ecstatic about the new film! Obviously things won't be the same, but I am thrilled to see everything updated. Kimberly and Jason forever.
