On My Mind

Being an avid social media and internet browser, I see a lot of things that I want to share with others (mainly you). These "On My Mind" posts are going to be mid-week mind dumps of some things I found entertaining or cool. This will also be helpful for me to keep an eye on things I like. I tend to see something amazing and then can never find it. So, hopefully you enjoy the randomness of my life and mind in between the style posts.

Apple Cider Floats

Sarah Vickers from Classy Girls Wear Pearls posted this delicious drink. I'm actually surprised I haven't seen this pop up on Pinterest yet. I tend to be turned off by some of the DIY variety drinks because they can entail a lot that I don't have or will never need. This float is super simple and the ingredients can be used for many other treats.

Ingredients:
Local apple cider (like Sarah I too keep either a half gallon or gallon in stock this time of year)
French vanilla ice cream
Whipped cream
Apple slices
Brown sugar or caramel sauce
Cinnamon (I did not use)

Directions:
1. Add one scoop of ice cream to a cup and pour in the apple cider. Leave a little room at the top for whipped cream.
2. Cut an apple slice to garnish the rim of the cup.
3. Top with whipped cream, brown sugar or caramel sauce, and cinnamon.

Younger

Ever since Netflix and Amazon Instant Video came out I have been terrible at staying current on TV shows. I'm always at least a season behind. It's also sometimes difficult for me to start watching new shows even when I find them interesting. Younger is one of those shows I immediately knew I wanted to watch, but never started. So, now three seasons in I am caught up and in love. Sutton Foster is adorable and classy in every way. Hilary Duff is her amazing self. The entire cast is hilarious and it feels very real. If you miss those Sex and the City days I would definitely try this out. Comcast On Demand has every episode.

ThriftBooks.com

I used to be notorious for buying my all of my books at Barnes & Noble. I'm now notorious for buying my books off of Amazon. Working at an apartment community, I am privilege to seeing residents' online shopping habits. Quite a few residents order books off of ThriftBooks. I am always about a good deal, especially when it comes to books so I wanted to give it a go. I just ordered four new-to-me books and I can't wait to receive them. Most of the prices are definitely a lot lower than Amazon, but some were actually the same or more expensive.

Plaid Blazers

J. Crew has some amazing plaid blazers this season. J. Crew Factory even has a great option. And like all the things I want, it's all a bit too expensive. The J. Crew Factory blazer is a great price (and great quality), but not something I can spend right now. Have no fear, Target is here to save the day! This blazer is only $34.99! It's in my shopping cart right now. Edit: It's now in my closet.

All Things Wedding

I'm getting married this month. I didn't think I would become obsessed with details and everything, but I have. October 29th will come too quickly and not quickly enough.
