Each year JC Hart hosts its annual Shining Star Awards for the employees in some lovely setting. This year was no exception. Held at the Indiana Landmark Center, the awards ceremony was stunning. I, as usual, took this opportunity to find a gorgeous dress to wear. Normally, I use Rent the Runway for such situations - they have great finds for even better prices. However, I had been eyeing this Modcloth dress since I saw it on Sarah KJP in October. Alas, in January the dress went on sale and it soon became mine.
If you have ever scrolled through my blog or Instagram (@elledelfine), you know I tend to wear items that cover about every inch of me. I have a long standing issue with my arms - we all have something right? Preparing to wear this dress, I had to do a lot of soul searching and (let's face it) weight training. This was the first strapless something (besides swimwear) that I have worn in years. Needless to say, I was nervous. The outcome was far better than I could ever have imagined. I have mostly conquered my dislike for my arms and am imagining a more fun summer wardrobe! This dress is exquisite in every way. It is sturdy and thick without being hot. The floral stitching is just beautiful. It could have only been better if pockets were involved.
And I know you were just dying to know, I did come away with an award. JC Hart has a set of core values and one of them is innovation. I was the lucky recipient of the innovation award that night. I am so thankful and grateful.
