The Capsule Wardrobe: The End

The end of my capsule wardrobe challenge could not have come fast enough. It has also taken me quite a long time to recharge and love my clothes again after the fact. The end brought total disdain for what I owned. The thought of making new outfits with what I already had seemed preposterous and the ever growing thought of why can't I just buy new clothes kept creeping into my mind. However, I have overcome that thinking and with a few new pieces, have come to appreciate my wardrobe again.

My aversion to the capsule wardrobe has nothing to do with the capsule wardrobe itself. It is with the limitations it brings. If I were happiest with a black dress and a million necklaces or scarves, this would be perfect for me. But what makes me happy is a floral, a polka dot, a stripe, an orange, or a crazy print dress. The more options I have, the more content I am. The less options I have, the more stressed I become. If you are someone who enjoys letting your accessories do all the talking, someone who does not have a lot of space, or you just really do not enjoy getting dressed in the morning - the capsule wardrobe is for you. If you love every single one of your fifty dresses, you are better off with your 100+ piece wardrobe. I highly suggest regularly filtering through each piece to make sure you do still love them.

Here are my favorite outfit creations of the last 15 days of the challenge:
