When an invitation says cocktail attire, I immediately jump for joy. What is more fun than picking out an adorable dress to wear for a special event? I'll give you a hint: nothing! You know what is not fun? Spending an obscene amount of money for a dress you know you will only wear once. And that, my darlings, is where Rent the Runway comes in to save the day. 

The event was my management company's annual Shining Star Awards. The Shining Star Awards is an event in which we can come together and celebrate each other. We get to visit with those we may not normally see and enjoy the fruits of our labor, so to speak. This happens twice a year, but the Spring gathering gives us a chance to be a little more formal. 

Ever since I rented my first dress from Rent the Runway, I have been itching to rent again. Once the invitation came for the Shining Star Awards with the dress code being business casual or cocktail attire, I immediately jumped online to search for a dress. It didn't take me long to find the perfect dress. A beautiful Kate Spade frock with a big bow and a low back caught my eye and I was hooked. The price may have been a tad too high for a small event, but I really didn't care. It was gorgeous. The little red dress.
