The Denim Debacle

Photo from Vogue UK
Alexa Chung is one of my favorite people to look towards when I need styling inspiration. So, it is no wonder when I found out about her collaboration with AG Jeans that I must have a look. Even though I look at jeans the same way I may look at sneakers, I'm always in support of a good pair of jeans (and collaborations).

As I saw photos of her collection, two pieces caught my eye. A high waisted skirt and a button-front dress. I hadn't touched a denim skirt since high school (maybe early college) and I think I was seven when I wore my last denim dress. But Alexa, with her feathery hair and Oxford shoes, just makes it so effortlessly cool. And I realized I need these pieces in my closet.

I'm really feeling the seventies vibe of the pieces. The feminine look is girly without over doing it. What do you think? I adore denim/chambray button-fronts, so why shouldn't I add a skirt and/or dress to my wardrobe? Should I take the plunge?
